Introduction
Genesis
Nyx DAO is an exclusive investment DAO focus on digital assets. Our goal was to go beyond the boundaries of everything made so far and provide an asset-backed NFT with governance and an inherent value. Our vision is based on a decentralized autonomous organization lead by a strong and powerful community. We envisioned a business model based on horizontality and fairness, where every member would be involved. What we are creating is a space where members will be equal to one another, and equal towards our norms.
On the speculation and frenzy surrounding NFTs
With blockchain technology and NFT use cases, the world is entering a new era. We are at the beginning of a revolution that will disrupt contemporary societies through the modification of human social interactions. Possibilities are opening up, opportunities are being created and the cards are being reshuffled. On one hand, like every revolution, there is a lot of speculation by early adopters who try to generate quick revenues through shell projects. On the other hand, NFT's investors are strongly involved in communities beyond pure financial speculation and “quick wins”.
Despite communities being known as a key factor of success, lots of Web3 stakeholders haven’t picked up on it yet, relying on individuality and leaving any form of group action without shared reward. Fueled by individualist players, it lacks the concept of membership, which is one we are aiming to claim and develop.
On the philosophical concept of NYX and the DAO
Our mission is to build an organization based on fairness, where all members are involved and none is above the norms. We aim to erase the elitist aspect of finance and speculation by giving to any motivated enough individual the opportunity to join Nyx and become part of something greater than sole profit.
We decided to build a DAO, a modern organization based on the ancient model of Greek democracy within which frame we could participate in building the future of web3, together.
This concept of togetherness comes with the ability for anyone to be involved, with a sense of equality we hold dear.
Our community is at the center of everything. Nyx was built around it, it is at its core, it is nothing without it, and there is nothing above. Nyx’s entire ecosystem and functioning was created to ensure the safety of every member’s assets, advocating for transparency and security. Finance doesn’t have to be individual, obscur, or dominated by the single power of wealth anymore.
Combining the revolution of web3, with a sense of shared purpose and solidarity, the will to share and grow through different expertise, Nyxers can be unstoppable. We build together, we learn together. We invest together, we win together.
What is a DAO?
A DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is a computer program driven entity that provides automated governance rules to a community. Its functioning can easily be compared to the ones of a traditional corporation as it uses a system of shares (or stocks), represented by digital tokens. This model gives rights with each share as well as dividend (return on investment).
As everything is automated through smart contracts running on a blockchain, tokens are issued to said-blockchain making their owner part of the organization’s shareholders. Because these tokens have the status of shares, it is to be noted that they are also considered as security tokens.
The blockchain - secure information storage and transmission technology operating in a decentralized manner - will carry each and every rule in an immutable and transparent way, making it all the more secure for every stakeholder. To be added that since a DAO operates on strong computer code, it exists within a supranational, transparent, auditable, and non-manipulable framework.
Protocol definition
Protocols are basic sets of rules that allow data to be shared between computers. For cryptocurrencies, they establish the structure of the blockchain — the distributed database that allows digital money to be securely exchanged on the internet.
